Carolyn Nussbaum

 

Carolyn Nussbaum, Esq.

 

Carolyn Nussbaum is a partner in the Complex Commercial Disputes group of Nixon Peabody LLP and served as managing partner of the Rochester office of the firm from 2011–2017. Litigating in state and federal courts and arbitration forums across the country, she concentrates her practice in several specialized areas in the securities, governance, and financial arenas.

 

Recently completing a term as president of the Monroe County Bar Association, Carolyn also served as president of the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys and the Volunteer Legal Services Project of Rochester. She is a former trustee of the Foundation of the Monroe County Bar, a fellow of the New York State Bar Foundation, and a member of the Character and Fitness Committee for the Seventh Judicial District of the State of New York. She was appointed by Chief Judge DiFiore to serve on the statewide Commercial Division Advisory Council. An avid writer, she is the co-author of an annual update on alternative dispute resolution published by the American Bar Association.

Carolyn is the secretary and a board member of the Rochester Area Community Foundation and a member of its Programs and Distributions Committee. She has been a board member of Cancer Connections since its founding. A longtime volunteer and leader of the Jewish community, Carolyn is a past president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester and has served on the boards of Jewish Federations of North America, Jewish Senior Life, the Jewish Community Center, and Temple Beth El.

A native of Connecticut and resident of Pittsford, Carolyn has been married for more than 30 years to Eric Brandt. Her proudest achievements are her three children—Zachary, Rachel, and Shira—all residing in Boston. Carolyn and Eric share a passion for cooking, reading, and their extended families.
