Monica Gebell
Monica Gebell worked as a high school English teacher for two decades before joining the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester in 2022 as the Director of Community Relations. In 2023, she was brought on as Executive Director for the Levine Center to End Hate.
Monica is deeply committed to bringing people together to build a more just and loving society. She founded Roc The Mic, a production company that raises awareness and funding for non-profits in the greater Rochester area through live storytelling events. With a demonstrated history of working with various populations and people of varied backgrounds, including economic, she is looking to promote a healthy sense of community in which equity and mutual understandings are elemental, imperative.
Monica, a Wexner Heritage Program fellow, recently completed a Certificate in Leadership in Combating Antisemitism with the Spertus Institute, and was a Visiting Fellow with the Institute of Studies in Global Antisemitism Policy at Oxford University this summer. She received her Masters degree from Clark University and her Bachelors from University of Pittsburgh. She and her husband Heath are parents to three spirited kids.
